About the Artist

Sue Victoria is a self-taught artist whose work is marked by a deep connection to nature, a passion for light, and a love of color. Known for her ability to capture both the realism of her surroundings and the emotion that they evoke.  Sue’s art journey began with printmaking, ceramics and watercolors, before transitioning to oil paints in recent years. This shift has allowed her to explore new depths of texture and expression while maintaining the attention to detail that has become a hallmark of her style.

During the winter months, Sue resides in Naples, Florida, where the warm colors of the southwestern coast provide endless inspiration for her tropical birds, seascapes and ocean life paintings. The influence of the coastal environment can be seen in her meticulous renderings of water, sky, and light, blended with the fluidity of impressionism and abstraction.

When spring arrives, Sue returns to Ontario, Canada, where she is captivated by the sweeping landscapes of this stunning country. The dramatic contrasts between the vibrant, lush forests and the tranquil lakes offer new challenges and opportunities for creative expression.

While she is mostly a studio painter, Sue enjoys painting outdoors and is a passionate plein air artist, taking every opportunity to work directly in nature. Her recent travels to Europe contribute to her artistic development, as she joins other plein air painters to study and improve her craft amidst the rich, scenic vistas of many historic countries.

Although Sue’s primary focus is on capturing the essence of her surroundings, she is also highly sought after for commissioned work. With a reputation for working closely with her clients to bring their visions to life, Sue is dedicated to ensuring that each piece reflects both her clients’ desires and her artistic sensibility. She is happy to collaborate within any budget, making her work accessible to a wide range of art enthusiasts and collectors.
